Family Dinner @ The Terazza, Grand Dorset Subang.

Phew! After a long, tiring week of site visits, group discussions, event planning and rugby training; it was such a relief to know that Friday night had FINALLY arrived! And what better way to spend it, than to have a buffet dinner with your family!

Tonight we are having dinner at The Terazza Brasserie!

Located on ground level, this distinguished restaurant is set in a Mediterranean environment overlooking the beautifully landscaped swimming pool and marquis lawn. It can cater up to 192 diners.

Once we had arrived at The Grand Dorsett, Subang Jaya, we were greeted by the Executive Manager and a close friend to my mother, Datin Jasmine Abdullah Heng who agreed to join us for dinner!

Bi-Monthly, The Terazza Brasserie hosts ‘themed’ buffets ranging from ‘Hawker Night’, where the culinary quarters whip out the giant woks and rattan hand fans to give the restaurant an authentic Malaysian ‘Hawker style’ shindig, ‘Italian Buffet’, where guests can sample some of the hotel’s top chefs’ Italian delicacies and even a ‘Surf & Turf’ Outdoor extravaganza that happens every Friday and Saturday at the Terazza Brasserie!

Luckily for us, on this night, Terazza Brasserie were having their famous Penang Food Promotion! With gourmet foods such as Fish head Curry, Rojak Buah, Curry Laksa and even Ice Kacang!

The layout of the restaurant is spacious and has a warm feel to it with Mediterranean influenced interior and upon entering the restaurant, you are greeted by both a visual and sensual feast with the aromas and flavors of the buffet spread right in front of you!

Once we had found a table and ordered our drinks, my sisters and I decided to be the first to raid the buffet spread! Wow, even though it was the Penang Food Promotion, they had other treats to offer such as FRESH oysters, smoked salmon, sushi and even a cheese spread. The possibilities were endless!

Once I picked out my first course, which consisted of:

FRESH Oysters

Hand-rolled Tuna Maki

Smoked Salmon

I decided to say grace, and tucked into my appetizers! It was absolutely delicious! The oysters tasted so fresh and clean, the sushi was authentic and delectable and the smoked salmon was to die for! I knew then that it could only get better from here!

ROUND TWO! And now it was time to sample the local fair. Being a quarter ‘Mamak’ (and constantly being reminded of it by Mother dearest) I was looking forward to tucking into the Nasi Kandar and Fish Head Curry!

There was also a little corner that offered an amazing selection of ‘Goreng-Goreng’ or Fried Foods which included; Fried chicken, fish, squid, vegetables and even fish roe, all of which looked scrumptious and tasted amazing.

Since Chinese New Years JUST around the corner, the next item on the agenda: YEE SANG!..

.. Yes, The Terazza Brasserie even has its very own 'DIY Yee Sang' Counter which I found very delightful!

Completely stuffed and completely satisfied, I decided to scope out what the rest of the table were eating!

Hanissya, the sister opted for a healthy dose of vegetables with a DIY Waldorf salad from the salad bar!

Helenna went for a more self indulgent apporach with a generous serving of Chicken Cordon Bleu and Roast Beef from the Poultry and Meat Section!

The beautiful Mother, decided to have a mouth-watering helping of the delicious, warm and soothing Pumpikin Soup. Warm and soothing? I suppose the saying 'You are what you eat' does apply to some degree. <3 onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8bVc5zayTHhvxLHb4SOkiuLz1z-ow95FbZuUzTeOFzkiWOucZM3DCIkgKyIhrBM_49NR6zzpAeeGz_rZP4mKH6lUx7jXcZRAUHDsKU6vNPtnksIVDFEnWiaRQBBNJEJTbVlA_-c9mS-0/s1600-h/DSC_1228.JPG">
Piece De Resistance...

.. DESSERT!

From Asian delights such as Ice Kacang and Kuih Lapis to Western classics like Cheesecake and Strawberry Mousse; Sampling the dessert spread was definitely the highlight of my weekend!

Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable setting, delicious food and of course brilliant company. From the beautiful spread at the buffet to the wonderful service; this dinner with the family at the Terazza Brasserie was DEFINITELY what I needed to ease me into the weekend!

Till the next time,

Harith the Hungry Blogger.

Howdy!!!

Greetings!

After a one month stint in Langkawi, blogging about the island lifestyle, interviewing the Island's most influential and loyal residents, enjoying the food and soaking up the positive enerygy Langkawi Island brought, The Langkawi Travel Blogger has decided to come home and do a small blog about one of my favourite hotels in the big city of Kuala Lumpur; The Grand Dorsett, Subang Jaya. (Formerly known as the Sheraton Subang)

.. Grand Dorsett Subang Hotel (formerly Sheraton Subang Hotel) is located in the epicenter of the prestigious township of Subang Jaya. Strategically situated within the commercial hub of Malaysia consisting of the Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya, and Subang Jaya region, the hotel is just 35 minutes from the new Kuala Lumpur International Airport via the Expressway and Kuala Lumpur City.

(Datin Jasmine Abdullah Heng, Manager of The Grand Dorsett, Subang Jaya)

The hotel is also near many tourist attractions including Sunway Lagoon Water Theme Park, the renowned Blue Mosque, National Zoo, Fireflies Park, Royal Selangor Visitor Centre, F1 Sepang Circuit, and much more. Shoppers can take the complimentary hotel shuttle to Subang Parade and Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall, which are just five minutes from the hotel.

Since I was a youngling, my parents used to bring us bring my sister and I to the hotel for weekend treats, whether it was Sunday Dim Sum at the Emperor Chinese Restaurant, sushi at Miyako, Japanese Restaurant or a buffet feast at the Terraza; I knew that whenever we were going to The Grand Dorsett it was going to be a blast!
